PLEASE NOTE THE SATURDAY BUS TOUR HAS BEEN REVISED

Construction delays at the Wanuskewin Heritage Park have forced the cancellation of that part of the bus tour. Instead, the tour will now include a guided visit to the new College of Law / Native Law Centre (opened in March 2008) on the University of Saskatchewan campus, a visit to the Ukrainian Museum of Canada and a cruise on the South Saskatchewan River aboard the Saskatoon Princess. Enjoy breathtaking views from the water as you learn about the history and landmarks of Saskatoon. The afternoon will end, as before, with a guided tour of the Mendel Art Gallery.

The Conference Planning Committee apologizes for any inconvenience resulting from the change of itinerary.

The departure and return times remain the same: 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The cost per person of the revised tour remains the same: $41.00.
A minimum number of registrants is required to guarantee availability.
Please register using the CALL Conference 2008 registration form.

1:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Pride of the Prairies - A Bus Tour of Saskatoon and Area

The tour begins with a drive along lovely Spadina Crescent, on the way to the
University of Saskatchewan
University of Saskatchewan, one of Canada’s most beautiful campuses featuring handsome Greystone buildings in English Collegiate Gothic architecture. The University is home to the Synchrotron (Canada’s largest scientific project), the Diefenbaker Centre, the Innovation Place research park and the university farm and grain elevator.
The tour then travels 5 km north of the city to the Wanuskewin Heritage Park, a National Historic Site of First Nations heritage and culture. The area has been a traditional hunting and meeting place for the Northern Plains Cree for 6,000 years. After a guided tour of the interpretive centre, we’ll participate in a tipi raising. There will also be time to walk some of the trails, view the archeological digs, learn about native plants and visit the art gallery and gift shop.

The tour ends with tea at the lovely Rembrandt’s Dining Room in the historic Senator Hotel built in 1908.

Cost per person: $10.00
A minimum number of registrants is required to guarantee availability.
