Pearson International Airport (YYZ)
 
Be sure to check Air Canada & WestJet for flights to Toronto.
 
            Getting to the Royal York
 
Airport Express (905-564-3232, 800-387-6787); operates an express bus connecting Pearson International with the Metro Toronto Coach Terminal and major downtown hotels, including the Royal York. Buses depart every 20 to 30 minutes from 5am to 1am. Allow 1½ hours to get to/from the airport. A one-way/round-trip ticket costs $23.95/39.95. You can save 5% off the cost by purchasing your ticket online.
 
Taxis from Pearson into the city take around 45 minutes, depending on traffic. A taxi to the Royal York will cost about $53.00. Pre-booking is not required for passengers leaving the airport; taxis and limos are available at the Arrivals Level of each terminal.
 
The TTC provides several routes between Pearson and downtown Toronto. The most convenient route to get to the Royal York is the 192 Airport Rocket. Take the 192 Airport Rocket bus to Kipling Station, then transfer free onto the Bloor-Danforth subway line using your bus ticket. Take the subway to Union Station which is across the street from the Royal York. Allow about 1  ½ hours for the trip downtown. TTC fare is $3.00 (exact change only).

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ)
 
Porter Airlines operates out of the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, located conveniently in downtown Toronto. Daily flights within Canada from: Halifax, Moncton, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Sault Ste Marie, St John’s NL, Sudbury, Thunder Bay and Windsor.

            Getting to the Royal York
 
Ferries operate from the island to Bathurst St. every 15 minutes from 7am until 10pm. At just 121m, it's one of the world's shortest scheduled ferry routes! It's free from the mainland to the airport, but costs $5.50 in the other direction. There is a complimentary shuttle bus between the Royal York and Billy Bishop approximately every 15 minutes! Allow about 15-20 minutes for the shuttle to the Royal York.
 

Trains
 
VIA Rail and AMTRAK bring visitors into the heart of the city each day. Toronto’s Union Station is conveniently located just across the street from the Royal York. Reservations: 416-366-8411 (phone) or visit www.viarail.com.

Several highways, including highways 2, 401, 407 and the Queen Elizabeth Way, link surrounding cities to Toronto. Overnight parking at the Royal York is $42/night. Valet Parking is available at the east doors of the hotel, off Front Street. In-and-out privileges are included. Valet parking will be charged to your room account unless otherwise specified.  Map of Royal York:

Parking Around the Royal York

There are several Green P lots (municipal parking) located right around the Royal York. You can search by address or intersection to find the location of Green P lots on their website.

  
Royal Bank Plaza is adjacent to the Royal York. You can park in their underground lot for $30/day. The entrance is on the south side of Wellington Street West, just west of Bay Street.

  Car Rentals
Numerous car rental agencies are located in the immediate vicinity. The concierge can arrange rentals.
 


May Events in Toronto
 
To help you with booking your travel, we thought it might be helpful for you to take a look at some of the events going on in Toronto in May. 

Theatre
You Can’t Take It With You, a Pulitizer winning comedy by Kaufman & Hart will be at the  Soulpepper Theatre.   As a special treat for our CALL Members, we have arranged for  20 tickets to this nearly sold-out show on Sat. May 5 at 7:30 pm in the Distillery District.  
After our Early Bird Deadline, any tickets that were not sold were released back to Soulpepper. 
Thank you to Barbara Fingerote for arranging this delightful evening for CALL Members.

ACC, the Air Canada Centre, home to our Toronto Maple Leafs, has 2 events around the CALL conference dates:
Stars on Ice on Friday May 4 at 7:30 pm
Rise Against on Thursday May 10 at 7 pm   

Canadian Opera Company, in their new home at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.
 
Roy Thomson Hall

Royal Conservatory of Music’s stunning new Koerner Hall.
 

Sports
Toronto FC (our professional soccer team) is in town playing D.C. United at BMO Field on May 5 at 4:30 pm.
 
Unfortunately, the Toronto Blue Jays are out of town the week of our conference and we don’t think that the Maple Leafs will still be playing in May.
 
The Hockey Hall of Fame is located along the PATH and is close to the Royal York.
